Frida Valtierra

Frida was born and grew up in the city of Durango, Dgo. Mexico. At the age of 18 she moved to the city of Guanajuato to study Tourism Business Administration at the university and decided to make Guanajuato her home. For more than 6 years she has dedicated her life to travel and to discovering new ways of seeing and living life.

She has visited different countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Gastronomy, art, dance, and nature are some of her passions.

Tim has lived in Guanajuato off and on for more than a decade with his family and owns a home here. He has done his best to sample the whole spectrum of street food (apart from a few stomach-churning options that only appeal to locals).

He is a veteran travel writer who has contributed to more than 50 publications and runs several travel sites like the webzine Perceptive Travel and his Cheapest Destinations Blog.

Dante Rodriguez Zavala

Dante Rodriguez Zavala was born in Guanajuato, studied tourism at the University of Guanajuato and Business in Caen, France. He does a little of everything: managing a hostel, tourism consulting, mobile tech, juggling, and of course, great food tours. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Dante is an enthusiastic promoter of his city and he will be pleased to show you all the flavors of the traditional Guanajuato street food spiced with history and fun facts.

Jorge Rangel

Jorge was born and raised in Guanajuato City. He got a Hospitality and Travel Services Management college degree from the Universidad of Guanajuato. Jorge likes to share and show off the best spots of the city and walk all around explaining the history, gastronomy, arts, culture, and architecture.

He works for the two most important Festivals in the City: Cervantino International Festival and Guanajuato International Film Festival. His hobbies include photography, singing, travel, and trekking.

Laura Barrón Calvillo

Laura was born in Salamanca in Guanajuato state. She has lived in different cities in Mexico, enjoying her time in every place. She studied Business in León and lived there for several years. She also lived in France and New Zealand and now she’s back in Mexico living in beautiful Guanajuato.

She has had different jobs in the tourism sector, including leading tours for different companies. Laura enjoys outodoor activities, playing the ukulele, and meeting people. She speaks English, French and Spanish. Laura loves Guanajuato city and sharing its culture and history with new visitors.

John Collins

John Collins is originally from Boulder Colorado, but moved to Guanajuato Mexico 15 years ago. He studied in the University of Guanajuato and then spent the next 5 years living and traveling in other parts of Mexico and Central America including Puebla, Oaxaca, and Mexico City—three great places for food!

He has worked as a tour guide, translator, and English as a second language teacher. He is able to run the street food tours in his native English or in Spanish. He has now moved back to Guanajuato and is excited to be showing off the city and its cuisine. He is eager to share the knowledge he has obtained with you on our tour of the city and street food.
